The French Girl's Heel Height Etiquette

Let's take a cue from women with the best fashion sense.

Note from the Editor: This is a new series called Weekly Niceties. It's bits of etiquette, finer details, and an emphasis on infusing class into the 21st century in a non-stodgy way. Cheers! Xx.

I think it's fair to say French women know how to rock effortlessly chic looks. Whether they are wearing jeans and a t-shirt or a sequined frock, they manage to look polished and gorgeous and inspire a little envy. For this week's niceties post, I wanted to snag one of their go-to tricks when getting dressed in the morning. I read it in the comments section and then later in a post by Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere.

Here's how you can incorporate French styling into your everyday dressing ...

If the hem of your skirt or dress hits above your knee, wear flats. If it falls below your knee, wear heels. This tip is so easy and simple. Normally I rock heels when the clothing item is looser and flats when it's tighter (which isn't too often because I'm not a fan of tight pieces), but I think I'll have to go the French way for a little while.

I should mention that the way you dress is up to you, and this in no way serves to shame you into wearing one thing or another. You keep rocking what you love, and you'll forever be stunning.
